Tokamak

Tokamak is a series developed from a family archive of photographs taken by the artist’s father, a physicist, in the 1980s. The title refers to the experimental device used in nuclear fusion research — a term that belonged to his scientific vocabulary and that now resonates within the work.

The photographs, depicting scenes from the artist’s childhood and that of her sister, serve as the starting point for a series of paintings and charcoal drawings. Through the process of painting, these images are reinterpreted and gradually transformed, shifting from photographic record toward a more tactile and material form of memory.

The project consists of seven works: four oil paintings and three charcoal drawings.
