Cooking Borsch by Lisa Izvozchikova shown at Hampstead Art Society’s Summer Exhibition depicts a subtle surrealism of space, conveying tranquility but also the possibility of subversion as the forms behind the figure bend and shimmer. The contemplative feel is conveyed through the choice of muted, beautiful pastel tones.
